Every single one of us in any organization has responsibilities to fulfill: those translate into tasks, activities and end results.  As an employee you’ve been evaluated on the basis of your individual contribution: what you individually produced, created or impacted.  As a supervisor, manager or executive, you’re going to be evaluated on the basis of the performance, output, results or profits of the group, department or company for which you’re responsible.  That’s precisely why you must shift your point-of-view to include the collective accomplishments of your group, department or company.
