Most of us are threatened by change . . . especially when it’s forced on us.  Sometimes, we fight the change. Sometimes, we ignore it.  Sometimes, we blame someone else for it.  We question why change is needed, and fall into the “We’re right; they’re wrong” routine.  Or, “we’ve tried that; it didn’t work.”

Experiencing anxiety in your new position?  That’s a normal emotional reaction to transitions.  Transitions, by definition, involve letting go of something and taking hold of something else.  Letting go of the behaviors, attitudes and skill sets of an employee and taking hold of the behaviors, attitudes and skill sets of a supervisor or manager can be scary.
