Promises

Are you keeping the promises you make to yourself?

 

Most of us have good intentions in regard to the promises we make to ourselves.


Often these promises are a result of goals and actions we'd like to pursue.  Many of these promises are made at the first of the year, quarter, month, week, or day.


Too many times, however, other people, events, situations, and excuses intervene and interfere. The result?  We fall short of our goals; our actions never quite make it to the finish line. 

The promises we make to ourselves are just as important as those we make to others.  They push us to achieve our own goals, our own dreams.  They push us forward.

Happiness

Happiness is something you design; it is a practice, an art.”

I have not yet concluded my thinking on the topic of “happiness.” 

Is happiness something we pursue, or is it something that we attract?

Does happiness manifest itself from the inside out or from the outside in?

Is happiness something we realize because we desire it, or because we deserve it—or both?  Or neither?

Is being happy the same as a happy being?

Regardless of whether it is natural or cultivated, happiness is essential to a well-balanced, successful life.  In fact, your level of happiness can have a profound effect on the happiness of those around you, too.  

So, make a point to be happy.  It matters.

What's On Top?

Focusing on important tasks and goals helps to channel energy toward execution. 

If it were that easy, however, why do these important tasks and goals go unachieved?

The simple answer is, we allow other items, activities, distractions, and “noise” to blur our focus.  Once this happens, our priorities drift, our sense of urgency diminishes, and our energy fades.
 

Consider the important tasks and goals you'd like to achieve.  Are they on the top of your mind . . . or are they being left behind?
