What's Your Plan

 

As the new year begins, so too does a new set of resolutions. We make lists of things we’d like to achieve, set goals, make promises.  The first few weeks, perhaps even months, things go well, but for many of us by the end of the year, we fall short of our target. 

Why?  Because too often we fail to plan.

Whether your goal for the new year is personal or professional, modest or ambitious, the key to actually achieving it is to have a plan in place. 

The “Plan”

Step One: Define the goal.  Make sure you have a firm understanding and a clear picture of the objective.

Step Two: Plot your course.  Once you know what you want to achieve, determine how you’re going to achieve it.

Step Three: Prepare for obstacles. Create a plan that prepares for a variety of potential pitfalls.  Expect the unexpected.

Step Four: Stay focused.  Don’t lose sight of your goal; keep pushing yourself towards it.   

Make 2018 a great year . . . make a goal, make a plan, and make it happen!
