Unstrap That Burden

Unstrap That Burden

People become attached to their burdens sometimes more than the burdens are attached to them.”

~ George Bernard Shaw

Here’s a potential growth exercise for you to consider:

Locate a backpack, and fill it with a few books--about 5-10 lbs of books will do. Wear it for an entire day.  Oh, and be sure to put it on in the morning and remove it only after you get in bed at night.

Try this for an entire day, and you'll gain a remarkable insight into all the other “things” that you've made a conscious decision to carry around with you.

Now, let's apply this same exercise to all the emotional weights you may be carrying around with you every day.

For instance, are you burdening yourself down with fear, anxiety, or frustration?  Does carrying around one of these ‘weights’ every day slow you down? Just as you can choose to strap on that wrist or ankle weight, you can choose to strap on that burden of fear, anxiety, or frustration. And just as you can choose to unstrap that weight, you can 'unstrap' those burdens that make you less than your best 'you.'

It’s your choice. Choose wisely.
